Katie Holmes: A Real-Life Reader Biography (Real-Life Reader Biography)
Published in Library Binding by Mitchell Lane Publishers, Inc. (October, 2000)
Author: Sue Boulais
Average review score:

Terrible!
There is about as much information in this 'book' as is on a badly researched Katie Holmes website. It has all of the obvious information that you probably already know. It is a mere 32 pages of large font and about 6 black and white photos. I could have written more and published a better book than this! Rather get "Katie Holmes Scene".

The Moriarty Principle: Ruminations on Sherlock Holmes
Published in Paperback by Galde Press, Inc. (May, 1997)
Author: Rolf J. Canton
Average review score:

Love and enthusiasm don't always equal quality
This book is written by Sherlockian Rolf Canton. He is obviously a huge fan of Holmes, and has put this book together with a great degree of enthusiasm. However, it lacks the most important ingredient: skill.

The book itself is a odd hodgepodge of things: the best thing is the opening essay, 'The Moriarty Principle', which looks at the role and importance of Moriarty in defining Sherlock Holmes. Then we have lots of photos of the Norwegian Explorers of Minnesota, a Sherlock Holmes fan club, poems (more or less - there is a lot more to poetry than just getting things to rhyme!), some essays of aspects of the Holmes canon and related matters (including an examination of whether Holmes' assigned birthday of 6 January really suits the astrological sign that would be his), some scripts and fiction.

Sadly, it really isn't worth the cost of the book overall.

Sherlock Holmes and the Case of Sabina Hall
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (June, 1988)
Author: L. B. Greenwood
Average review score:

Couldn't get Through This Pastiche
I have been spending a lot of time lately reading all the pastiche Sherlock Holmes. After finding Greenwood's Thistle of Scotland quite engaging, I got this book. I trudged through half the book before I finally put it down in disgust.

Normally I can find enough interest in any book to at least finish it. But not with this one; I didn't care about the long-drawn-out story, the characterization of Watson and Holmes did not meet expectations. Avoid it.

Sherlock Holmes and the Egyptian Hall Adventure
Published in Paperback by Breese Books Ltd (May, 1999)
Authors: Val Andrews and John H. Watson
Average review score:

Not much of an adventure
This was one of the first non-Doyle Holmes stories that I picked up to read, and I was quite disappointed. The plot is thin, and Andrews tries to capture the spark of the Watson-Holmes relationship without much success. Frankly, I think the book is somewhat boring. Since this book I have found numerous other non-Doyle stories that are very good.

Stories: Eleven Aboriginal Artists (Art & Australia Monograph.)

.
I have not read the book. I am actually looking for a book of Albert Namantjura's (this might be spelled wrong) paintings. He was a very popular Aboriginal artist back in the 1950's in Australia. I believe he used watercolor, but I am not certain. Can anyone advise me on where I can get a book of his paintings?

A Study In Southsea : The Unrevealed Life of Doctor Arthur Conan Doyle The Creator of Sherlock Holmes
Published in CD-ROM by Realvision Imaging Solutions Limited (30 November, 1999)
Author: Geoffrey Stavert
Average review score:

Don't buy this CD
Opens in a viewable size only in Internet Explorer (not Netscape). Each page is a jpeg, so no searching capability exists. Jpegs are not even level. Must have been processed on a 24 inch monitor, because no page is completely viewable on my 17 inch monitor even when set at 1024 x 768. Completely unviewable in Netscape. Jpegs are smaller than a postage stamp. Each time I try some command to use the "document", the gaudy company logo ROTATES! There is no way any human should be expected to read a book in this format. The CD case broke the first time I opened it. This is one of the worst products I have ever purchased. I gave it one star only because I didn't have the option of giving it zero. In summary, I was not pleased.

Warbird Legends
Published in Paperback by Motorbooks International (September, 2000)
Authors: John M. Dibbs, Tony Holmes, Stephen Grey, and Geoffrey Page
Average review score:

Terrible
To put it frankly, this has to be one of the worst aviation photography books out there. Not only are the pictures of a poor quality, but 5 pages have fallen out of the book, and i have only had it for two months. Its disgusting to have to pay so much for a terrible piece of work. To anyone who is thinking of purchasing this book, i would highly reccomend any one of Philip Makanna's books. They happen to be my favorite.

Thank You
